Among clarinet players, Leblanc is known and highly regarded because of the high quality student level clarinets that they produce. But while they are well known for their beginner level clarinets, Leblanc also has professional level clarinets. Leblanc, Noblet and Vito are just some of the brands produced by Leblanc.

Leblanc is owned by the biggest manufacturer of band and orchestra instruments in the US - Conn-Selmer.

It was the time of King Louis XV in 1750 when D. Noblet started a company in France. Noblet's family specializes in producing woodwinds including clarinets. For 150 years, the Noblet family continued to operate the business.

The last of the Noblets heir passed away in 1904. The business was passed on to George Leblanc who also comes from a family of woodwind makers.

Leblanc went on to make improvements in the process of creating musical instruments. He even worked with Charles Houvenaghel to create the very first acoustical research lab. This allowed them to make great developments and equipped them to refine their instruments and to come up with more clarinet designs.

Vito Pascucci founded Leblanc USA in 1946 and went on acquire Leblanc France in 1993.

Leblanc are highly regarded as fine instruments. The price is very affordable compared to high end instruments but the sound quality is comparable to the higher prices brands. This is probably why Leblanc is very successful in the beginner to intermediate markets in the US.
